Introduction

6A Character Education is a parenting philosophy centered on love and discipline, focusing on helping parents guide their children’s healthy development through six key principles: acceptance, appreciation, care, time, responsibility, and authority. Its background and history are based on the development of multiple character education theories, integrating research findings from psychology, education, and family dynamics.

The development of 6A Character Education can be traced back to the late 20th and early 21st centuries, a time when social changes, altered family structures, and the impact of technology on parent-child interaction made character education increasingly important. Parents faced various challenges in parenting, particularly in striking a balance between love and discipline. 6A Character Education emerged to provide parents with a systematic tool to help them build a loving and boundary-based family environment.

The development of this concept is deeply influenced by positive psychology and emotional education theories. Positive psychology emphasizes gratitude, appreciation, and cultivating positive emotions, which aligns with the “appreciation” and “care” elements of the 6A framework. Furthermore, the concepts of responsibility and boundary setting from family therapy and behavioral science are reflected in the two key elements of the 6A framework: “responsibility” and “authority.”

We offer the following two 6A parenting education courses:
Beginner – Through theoretical explanations, experiential activities, and group sharing, enhance family communication and parent-child relationships.
Advanced – Through real-world case studies, apply the learned theories to help parents understand how to practice family education in daily life.
